RACE DAY INFORMATION
In case of threatening weather: The Park2Park events may be delayed or canceled if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, or Heavy Rain. The start of any event can be delayed one hour from the posted start time if any of these conditions exist. Race directors reserve the right to cancel the event in the case of Tornado Warnings, Thunderstorms or other extreme weather conditions. If threatening weather forces cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for Race Day. T-shirts will be distributed.
Injury response:If medical attention is needed on the course, a Sheriff Paramedic Unit, two ambulances and two firefighter units as first responders will be available. For all medical events or injuries, the Paramedic Unit will be called to treat, and an ambulance dispatched for transporting a runner at their own expense. Runners who are unable to finish due to injury (cramps, blisters, exhaustion, twisted ankles, etc) can be picked up by the Park2Park course monitor and brought by vehicle to the finish line with a phone call. Any aid station or course volunteer can call the course monitor to the location of the runner. Course volunteers are authorized to call emergency medical services for any potentially dangerous injury. Runners must be prepared for competitive runs; extend yourself only as far as your conditioning. Pacing yourself and maintaining adequate hydration will ensure a safe and successful event.
